Below are ten things you must do to organise a successful event
Define your event idea
Have you ever seen any event organised without an underlying concept? Such event is surely doomed to fail! Your event must have a concept idea. This will help in achieving the goal of the event.
Draft your budget
You don’t want to organise an event without having a budget. Write out and cater for all that’s needed to be done. And of course, plan for unforeseen situations too.
Decide on your venue
Ensure you get the right venue that suits your event. It would be insane to rent a Maracana stadium for a wedding event. Check to see if all facilities in the venue are in good condition. Have a Plan B too.
Secure your speakers
Getting the right speakers would definitely contribute to the success of your event. Confirm their availability and ensure you follow up on them.
Look out for sponsors
How many individuals or companies would be willing to sponsor your event? Are there any benefits these sponsorships bring to them? State your case persuasively to win them over.
Promote your event
Use the media to your advantage. You can use social media promotions for your events. Collaborate with media firms if you have to. Grant interviews and get people talking about the event.
Sell tickets
Your event will determine the sales strategy that would be effective in selling your tickets. Draw up your ticket types and prices. Create an events page if you must.
Do a final check
Ensure you do a final check of the event venue, 24 hours to the scheduled date. Are there things that are not put in place? You still have the grace to amend things quickly, if you don’t want to be disgraced.
Enjoy the event
Of course, we know you are the event planner. However, your role doesn’t stop you from enjoying the event too. Get a wine and take a sip – that’s only if every item needed is already planned for.
Ask for feedback
Get feedbacks from your clients or participants. You can issue a printed evaluation form to them. They will probably make objective assessment and that would aid the planning of your next event.
Finally, you can contact an event agency to help organise a successful event for you.
