Live streaming – The Future of Events

September 22, 2020by Isaac Olawole JOSEPH0

With the outbreak of the pandemic, Covid-19, a whole lot has changed in the world today. Conforming to the new normal becomes a necessity. And of note is the sudden rise of virtual events. Many industries now do live streaming of their activities – a move that should be seen as the future of events.

In the past few months, various events have been staged virtually, in a bid to bring the audience into the event fold; thereby curtailing the adverse effect, Covid-19 has on physical events. Live streamed events are beginning to get the nod in most parts of the world.

The emergence of social distancing has also made several events to be held in hybrid formats – that is, using in-person experience, while also going virtual in other locations. This is mostly done to ensure that not many people get to gather at once in a single place.

It is therefore important for entrepreneurs to leverage this trending way of organizing events to boost their business activities. And the beauty of virtual events is that you can actually still make it a wonderful experience for your audience.

Detailed below are some of the events done virtually in the past few months.

Creative Arts Emmy Awards

This colorful ceremony, which was held in conjunction with the annual Primetime Emmy Awards, was held virtually and the event actually recognized notable achievements in the American television programming, as well as guest acting roles.

NFL Games

Recently, Microsoft announced a deal with the NFL to help create a virtual fan experience for games during the 2020-2021 season. Fans get to watch NFL games via Microsoft Team, the company’s collaboration software, and show up on the “Fan Mosaic.”

Also installed at each of the end zone at stadiums for “key games,” are LED screens, which are called the Bud Light Showtime cam. The rationale behind this is that the Fan Mosaic will stream on the screens after touchdowns; thereby helping players celebrate with fans during scoring plays.
