With the dwindling state of the economy which has had sizeable impact on the livelihood of the people due to the COVID-19 Pandemic; Communitywide Charities Inc (USA) with its African NGO: Communitywide Grassroots Organization are making efforts in improving quality of life at the grassroots level in communities.
At Communitywide, they pride in searching and harnessing resources and opportunities within and outside of a community to provide needed support, development aid, training and other assistance to the less privileged and needy in a bid to ameliorate their sufferings and improve their living standards.
Again, Communitywide, via its charities, seek to operate within communities locally, nationwide and internationally to bring relief and teach skills to boost improvement in the quality of lives of those reached. According to the founder, he made the move to initiate this non-profit organization having seen “a young disabled assisted off a tour bus on to a chair in an event hall by four individuals, while on a trip to a developing country.
He explained that at the conclusion of the event, four different volunteers unrelated to the man again spontaneously lifted up the chair and hand carried him to the tour bus. This incidence made him send out email requests to a few friends to help in procuring a good wheelchair for the young man, who expressed his heartfelt thanks for the privilege to regain some of his lost independence in visiting and assisting others.”
In an information factsheet released by Communitywide, they believed that “in all communities, there are willing individuals ready to do everything in their power to make a difference like the individuals who spontaneously stepped up to give the handicap a lift; such as friends in faraway country who had never met this person yet donated a wheelchair.”
